Alt pages sell a world as much as a look. Goth, punk and tattooed creators attract fans who share the taste: the music, the horror films, the ink. That shared taste is what you build retention on, as long as your voice stays dry and real and never reads like a sales script.

Sell the world around you

Mainstream pages compete on being desirable. You get to compete on being interesting. Your playlist, your terrible horror film of the week, your new boots and your opinions all count as content, and they cost nothing to make.

Give the year a shape: October is your Christmas, and a band tour or a film release is a reason to theme a set. Subscribers should feel they're following someone they'd actually go out with on a Friday night.

Your ink: signature and fingerprint

Tattoos do two jobs on a page. They give fans a reason to follow, with each new piece working as a natural content event. They also identify you anywhere. A cropped or leaked image still points back to you, which exposes you, and also makes stolen copies far easier to spot.

  • New piece, new story. Design, session, healing: three weeks of posts from one appointment, if the healing shots stay free of blood.
  • Leaks. Distinctive ink helps a reverse image search and a takedown. We scan for copies either way.
  • Privacy. Want to stay off your employer's radar? Crop or cover from day one. Cropping an old post does nothing once it's been copied.
  • Artists. Ask before tagging a studio. Plenty are fine with it, some aren't.

A voice with no sales gloss

Alt audiences smell a script from a mile off. So you fill in a voice guide with how you actually talk, phrases to avoid included, and the AI writes from that.

Where these fans hang out

Music, tattoo and horror spaces are full of your people, but they hate being sold to. On Reddit, the rules ask you to take part where you have a real interest, so post in alt communities that allow creators and be a person there. On Instagram, tattoo and fashion content fits with no offer in the caption. Collabs with other alt creators work well, and anyone who appears in your content needs the usual ID and written consent.
